    Congratulations on your stand on opposing the HST. I dont know what the government is thinking about at this time of economic down-turn, unemployment, etc. Prices will increase on so many everyday items and will hurt many people. Many people, like myself will get notice this month that annual indexing of pensions will go up the usual 2 to 3 %. This hardly covers the 8 % increase the HST will bring in. Keep up the good work, Sir.

    Its hard to make a point when it falls on the ears of the Liberals. Thanks for standing up and fighting though. Atleast you tried. The liberals will be out in the cold come next election I hope because of this hst and his pet tax the health care premium.

    It’s refreshing to see people such as yourself and Mr Murdoch standing up to this HST nonsense. Despite the complete stupidity involved with introducing taxes during a recession, the Fiberals have once again lied to the people of Ontario — surprise, surprise. Now the Federal liberals are backing HST after referring to it as, “The Harper Sales Tax” last summer? I’m sorry, but it seems that Mr. McGuinty’s cheese has slipped from his cracker if he believes Ontarians are going to support this drivel. My family and I will seriously considering moving provinces — if not the country — if the HST is introduced. I’ve had enough. Ontario is quickly becoming far too expensive a place to live given what it has to offer in return.

    Warmest Regards.

    We are a one income family, I stay at home to care for my children and mother-in-law. I thank you for trying to do something about this HST. This new tax will put a large strain on our finances, and we will have to cut back to pay for heat and electricity. I have already told my MPP, I will NOT vote for him in the next election if he allows this to go through (he is Liberal).

    Keep focus on this issue and thanks for your efforts.

    Randy,

    I just read about the septic poll at http://www.yourperth.ca/article/19206. It is gratifying to see an MPP and MP getting involved in local issues. Here in Miss Mills (sadly beyond the borders of your riding) we also have a fight with town council over septage/sewage issues. Our MP and MPP are silent on the issue.

    All the best.

    Thankyou to MPP’s Bill Murdock and Randy Hillier. Please hang in there! Your efforts support the democracy of the people who live in this province.

    Democracy is getting public input, the many petitions that were read just today by MPP’s in parliament is obvious that there is a huge concern and objection to this the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)

    Thankyou to the MPP’s who presented and supported petitions from their ridings on this HST today in parliment. Ypu are truly supporting the democratic process.

    Public meetings need to be held all over the province covering a two week window accessible to most people in Ontario, Citiy and Country folks alike

    Mr. Hillier;

    Thankyou for your fight against the HST. you and Mr.. Murdock are heroes of the working people of Ontario. Mcguinty has shown he is a politician who has no leadership qualities and only knows how to raise taxes. Thanks again.

    Randy,

    I’m not one of your constituents, nor am I even a Conservative supporter (generally speaking). However I wanted to let you know that I fully support your protest of the HST. Clearly the message was not being heard and your actions have brought the stupid-tax to the forefront of peoples minds. I realize the Speaker has said, to paraphrase, that if this happens again more severe actions may be taken. I say make it happen again! No, I’m not an anarchist but sometimes a little disruption is what’s required in order to ensure an important message is heard and hopefully considered.

    Thank you, sir, for your bravery.

    Randy Keep up your good work. You are
    representing my view on this bill. As a
    retired senior, this is another expense
    which will take away from my
    already dwindling retirement fixed income. I am behind you!! I don’t think people generally understand the
    impact this bill will have their
    finances.

    Thank you for standing up on behalf of the many people who are opposed to the new hst. Even though I do not live within your riding. I commend you for what you and Bill Murdoch did in the past couple days. Even though I feel that action was a direct expression of how most of the tax payers of Ontario feel, I doubt the protest will change the fact of the new hst being implemented as planned. I’ll continue to sign petitions and to send emails in protest of the hst. The federal government gave us something by lowering the gst and the provincial government is now planning on taking all that away.

    Finally a politician with balls. Keep fighting. How much longers until the Fiberals(spelling mistake intentional) can be voted out???

    DALTON needs to be told again & again , we can’t afford to pay more tax. Most Ontarians are living on salries from the 80’s.

    I am behind you 110% on this UNWANTED HST tax. Please continue to speak for the majority of Ontarians as you and Mr. Murdoch are doing. I do not think your antics are childish in any way. I think they are getting the attention this matter deserves in an unviolent way.

    What happened to the people voting on issues that will have a dramatic outcome on everything we do and buy? And they wonder why we travel to the USA to shop,,, hellooooooooooo we are taxed to death as it is and McGuinty wants to tax us more. I say lets have an election and get Mr Hudak in where he belongs.

  19. M Cameron says:

    Sir,

    I was a Liberal voter until now. The Liberals are trying to jam the HST down our throats and they have absolutely no consideration for any member of the public that voted them in. They will not listen to their constituents as they think we are a mass of no-minds that they can push around as they like. They will be sorely disappointed in the next election. I have decided to throw this party in the ditch and vote Conservative. I will not waste my vote on other parties as they have no chance of forming any kind of government either Provincially or Federally. The Conservative platform has become much stronger under Prime Minister Harper and I like the way the country is heading. I would like this Province to be heading in a similar direction forward instead of instigating new taxes that will do nothing except line the Liberal party pockets.

    To this end I applaud and support you for your efforts. I wish you were in my riding as I would vote for you. Unfortunately, we have a Liberal MPP and a Liberal MP who are as ineffectual up here in the north as Mcguinty is down south. I hope you will not give up and I hope you draw much more attention.

    Thank you for standing up.

    Sincerely,

    Mike Cameron

    Randy,
    Thank you for your efforts to stop the HST. It is really a bad idea for the average person, just another layer of taxes on top of the present PST and GST system. If the total HST was reduced to say 10% then it would be fair taxation and easier administration for business.
    Keep up the good work!

    Keep up the opposition to the HST! Does “I will not raise taxes” McGunity not know how many seniors will have to abandon their homes owing to electrical, fuel oil, natural gas, etc. taxes? Smart meters are a tax grab. How long can we stay in homes that we saved so long to cherish? I fear not for much longer. But we can get on the welfare role I guess.

  23. Injured and Abused By Workers Comp says:

    Hello Randy, The Meredith Principle has been twisted like a pretzel to deny injured and disabled workers their Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, employers are being sucked into paying outrageously high premiums for treatment that we workers never get, the cost of assessment alone was $2000.

    The assessment team discarded my complaints like yesterdays trash, sentenced me to physiotherapy and when the physiotherapist had issue’s with my injury’s, workers comp just turned BLIND-EYE and just sent me back to work with 3 undiagnosed spinal injuries, and a shoulder injury.

    I am completely disabled now and think about suicide every time my pain meds quit working as it has been 6 years now that I have been punted around the Canadian Medical Cue shuffled from one physician to the next, never getting any help.

    I have no way to support my family and I was cutoff workers comp 1 yr ago. I’ve written to everyone involved, The Gestapo Leader Harper who won’t lift a hand to investigate the fraudulent claim administration, Neither will SS Gestapo Rob Nicholson who just sent me a letter he can’t get involved in my claim as Workers Comp is above the LAW set-up at arms length so NO ONE will investigate.

    Human Rights just shuffled me out the door, just like OHS who doesn’t care that workers comp has been returning me to work driving a semi-truck on MORPHINE / OXYCONTIN / MUSCLE RELAXANTS;

    I lost my class 1 license after the last return to work where I nearly ran over a car on the highway, when you can’t sleep due to severe pain and take pain meds to try to get some relief, your BRAIN doesn’t operate quite like it’s supposed to, it got pretty damn fuzzy and disorientated behind the wheel of a 140.000 lbs truck and trailers going 100 K’s an hour.

    This year I found out that my physician had requested that I be expedited to a specialist for my only injury my right shoulder, he also requested and warned workers compensation that the medications he had prescribed would make my job unsafe.

    Of course workers comp wouldn’t listen to my Doctor and sent me back to work without telling me, and I fell breaking my back and tailbone in several spots, ( of course none of my injury’s were diagnosed again due to the FRAUDULENT CORRUPTION at workers comp;)

    Please get your fix for WORKERS COMPENSATION in high gear ASAP,before more injured workers are purposely crippled by all the CON-ARTIST CLAIMS ADJUDICATORS at WORKERS COMP who think they know more about injuries and medical care than physicians who are trained.

    Here’s my Point;
    DENIED CLAIMS = NO HEALTH RECOVERY
    DENIED DIAGNOSTIC TESTS = NO HEALTH RECOVERY
    DENIED OPERATIONS REQUESTED FOR WORK INJURIES = POVERTY / MISERY
    RETURNED TO WORK UNDIAGNOSED = CRIPPLED – DISABLED-CHRONIC PAIN – This is the reason for hostage takings and mass shootings;

    Workers Safety + Insurance Board should change their name too-

    EMPLOYERS CON-ARTIST INSURANCE ORGANIZATION
    and this should be their slogan;

    We will purposely cripple you with denials for treatment, then when we have ruined your health and life, we will break you emotionally, financially,physically;
    Then force you to a run-around of appeals were we have the right to be wrong, and well if you can borrow money to take us to court, we will hold you up forever and ever. Then and only then if you win in court, the judge will say it has to go back to workers comp to get everything straightened out. then you REPEAT ALL STEPS OVER AND OVER;

    While $$$$$ from the injury fund is used for anything other than helping injured or disabled workers;

    W.S.I.B has to change, they have been punnishing me since 04 for being injured on the job. They put me through their L.M.R plan that I found impossible to do, do to my work related injory. They have been told by my doctors that I couldn’t do it. I was pulled out of the plan by my doctor do to debuilitating pain caused by my work related injory only to have them force me back in. I have been in 2 car accidents trying to get to a work placement that they forced me to be in. I was in these accidents because I have R.S.D in my right leg, caused by my work related injory. This disease causes debuilitating pain that will make my leg stop working, cramp up and cause so much pain that it makes me vomit, it keeps me up all night most of the time and I am on pain medication day and night. I can not even walk today because of my leg, but still W.S.I.B says that I am capible of keeping a job as a dog groomer, I can’t even get a job as a dog groomer. They had me in a placement but the lady could not keep me do to my injory, she wrote them and told them the reason, but they do not listen and they choos not to understand. My one doctor just shakes his head and says that they are totally corrupt! I have a wife, 2 kids and W.S.I.B has just taken more money away from me because they say that I am ready to go to work now, my family and I are in big trouble!!

    Dear Randy: My story with WSIB is a nightmare that I still can’t wake up from, as it is still ongoing and is just a out right grab for money. They want my company to pay WSIB on a independant subcontractor (WSIB charge he is an employee) who has proved without a doubt that he is an independant contractor and not our employee. They also want us to pay WSIB premiums on the rental portion of equipment. And cover employees that do not log under the sky high logging premium rate.
    We need to have the choice of private insurance.
    I am presently appealing but of course owe to the WSIB
    $ 40,000.00 plus interest after being audited.
    My company can not get a WSIB clearance certificate because of this o/s amount which limits work.
    The system is criminal
